Added in v1.4.
Overthrow lets you squad up with other players while keeping your recruits your own.
The rule that governs everything on this page: recruits are owned by a player, not by a group.
When you spawn you are placed in your own group, you are its leader, and it is named after you.
That group is private by default. Nobody can drop into it without asking, and you are never silently added to somebody else's.
You cannot end up with no group at all. If you leave a shared group you go straight back into a group of your own, recreated if it no longer exists.
A group holds up to 6 players. Recruits do not use up player slots.
Nothing is sent until you confirm. If you cancel, the leader never sees a request.
If the server refuses the join — the group is full, gone, or a different faction — you are told, rather than left wondering.
This is expected, and it is the base game's behaviour rather than an Overthrow one. You already have a group of your own, so there is nothing to create. Use Leave to return to it.
Your recruits follow you into whatever group you are in.
While you are in someone else's group:
What never transfers, in any group:
When you leave, switch groups, disconnect or reconnect, your recruits come with you. None are left behind under the old leader's command.
If you recruit somebody while you are in a shared group, they join that shared group — recruits follow your current group, not your own one.
